Strengthening the Gujarat Titans Coaching Setup
The appointment is aimed at strengthening the team’s coaching structure ahead of IPL 2026. Gujarat Titans management believes Dahiya’s experience in domestic cricket and the IPL will help improve player development and match preparation.
Dahiya’s arrival also follows the recent appointment of former Australian opener Matthew Hayden as the team’s batting coach, further boosting the Titans’ support staff for the upcoming season.
Vijay Dahiya’s Playing and Coaching Career
During his playing career, Vijay Dahiya represented India in 19 One Day Internationals and two Test matches. He also enjoyed a successful domestic career with the Delhi team before moving into coaching.
Over the years, Dahiya has built a strong coaching résumé. He was part of the coaching staff that helped Delhi win the Ranji Trophy in the 2007–08 season and later worked with several IPL franchises.
He previously served as an assistant coach with teams such as Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants and also worked as a talent scout for Delhi Capitals.
